Words From Our Guests

Excellent food, drinks, and service. Reservations recommended. We had the lobster on French Toast, steak tartare, chocolate mousse, and apple tartain. In our November 2023 visit, we enjoyed a ravioli, new York steak, lava cake, onion soup, Ratatouille, steak tartare, and a cream brulee in a crepe. All perfect. We will be back!

This restaurant has become one of our favorite go-tos in San Miguel! Every dish is seriously delicious, rich and full of flavor. Both the brunch and dinner are both incredible. The wine list is great. The chef and the service are top-notch. Highly recommend!

Recomendamos encarecidamente Salvajes Brasserie. ¡Definitivamente regresaremos!

Merci Beaucoup—French Restaurant in SMA A little hidden gem. Two of us enjoyed sea bass— the sweetness of it melted in my mouth. Just delicious. Even though rain began, we were covered by large umbrellas—very cozy. Wine menu limited, but we managed beautifully.

Wow-a charming and decadent experience! The warm ambiance paired well with sizzling-Cheesy Hot French Onion soup! Crazy yummy Lobster French Toast..! Breads and salads were perfect. We were treated like VIP’s sitting at the kitchen/bar..Every dish that passed by looked amazing. The petite macaroons should be illegal..the flavors…truffle/salty/sugary/buttery!! Crème brûlée filled crepe with raspberry sorbet? Such pleasant and happy servers. Smiles all around! What a treat!

Excellent meal and service. All the dishes were well seasoned and beautifully plated. The Romaine salad was exquisite as was the sea bass. Looking forward to returning and trying other dishes.

Incredible and unmissable place in San Miguel

Given the international culinary spectrum in San Miguel de Allende, it came as no surprise that there would be a highly touted French restaurant, Salvajes Brasserie to be more precise. The question is, would it add up to all the hype?

Amazing brunch!!! This is our second time at Salvajes Brasserie and I sure don’t want to give 5 stars only because it will become even more difficult to get a reservation. Chef driven, family run, INCREDIBLE and innovative cuisine. The service and food are both 5 STAR.

Cafezinho expresso e a conta. Staff muito atencioso e gentil.

Great restaurant. The food was amazing. The staff very good. You can tell they take pride in their food and their restaurant. We had oysters, fig salad, broccoli, lobster french toast and catch of the day. The broccoli was by far my favorite but it was all amazing. Just a note, the lobster french toast is served a little below room temp just in case you wondered. I had to ask. Simply splendid. My only complaint is the very short wine pour. It was good wine but for 195 pesos/glass I would expect a full pour. Still didn’t ruin the meal.

We felt like we discovered a hidden gem. It’s a small intimate beautiful restaurant with rooftop seating. The food was excellent! Small wonderful menu that changes. We just traveled to Paris and the French Onion Soup here was so much better. The salad was fabulous! We enjoyed eating here so much that we went twice. Make a reservation.

This was the best dining experience we have had in San Miguel in 2 years. The food was excellent. The price was appropriate. Our server was very busy with several tables yet was very attentive and took care of us well. This will be a regular on our list of restaurants and we highly recommend it.

You don’t always get equally amazing service, food, and ambiance in one place in San Miguel but it happens here. Quality service and delicious food served family style (but they might allow half orders). Cocktails are also creative, balanced perfectly and presented beautifully. High-end dishes and presentations without the attitude.

Suculento la selección de alimentos es espectacular.

Authentic Brasserie serving up some of San Miguel's best food. A great addition (fairly new) to the SMA dining scene. Authentic and extremely well executed coq au vin, steak frites and onion soup. Actually, I haven't had a mediocre dish there yet...and my wife and I have eaten there about 6 times. After 6 times, I can confidently say that Chef Jorge's execution is spot on. The front of the house is also on point with Alejandra and Ayeda (hope I spelled it right) running the show. Ambience is cozy and clean. Wine list is thoughtful and well represented along grape varieties and styles. Going to Salvajes is always a good night!

Incredible new restaurant from the same chef / owner of Bastardo, every dish was amazing

What a delight! Alejandra has designed the multilevel space into a series of small, open "rooms" so that everywhere offers a feeling of intimate dining. Some tables open to the kitchen, an unusual feature in San Miguel. The service is attentive and thoughtful, and the unusual cocktails were beautiful and tasty. And the food: WOW. The menu is eclectic with something for everyone and the flavors are perfect. They offer the best salad in San Miguel with bursting red romaine and a marvelous dressing. Desserts looked fantastic, but we couldn't get to them. I'd say go there right away, because soon they will be booked for months! Congratulations to a spectacular team!

A friend invited me to dinner on what I think was their opening night. Superb, the Coq au Vin was real French cuisine, absolutely delicious.

El Arbol San Miguel

The lamb was delicious. We were inside but it was open to the air, which we like nowadays. When we needed a taxi a very nice worker went to the corner and got one for us. It took him a while but he persevered.

One of my favorite restaurants in San Miguel, this restaurant group is always a guarantee since they put a lot of heart into what they do. Congratulations and may you continue to have much success.

Excelente lugar.

Awesome restaurant locally owned and frequented by locals and expats. Food was outstanding, French style brasserie using local ingredients. Standouts for our visit were the salad, coq a vin, French onion soup, and lobster toast. Service was professional and friendly. If you’re in town this is a must visit.

Last night was our first time to this restaurant and it will NOT be our last! We arrived without a reservation and, despite how busy it was, we were seated. The food is incredible, in fact, better French food than we've had in many spots in France. The staff is so friendly and attentive. Great vibe and ambience. We will return ASAP, and make a reservation this time..)

The Best french restaurant in San Miguel de Allende, the food and the service is awaesome, it's a great place for lunch or dinner.

Wow, this place was great from every aspect! It’s a bit expensive but we’ll worth it. The food was fantastic, the service was great and it has a relaxing rooftop.

We came here to celebrate Bastille Day (July 14th), and had a wonderful time. We were welcomed by a friendly and engaging host, who walked us to our table.

This much talk about restaurant was on our list to try and we chose it for our and my birthday. We made a reservation as it is recommended. We sat on the upper floor terrace hard stairs to manœuvre. The service was very good and staff did their upmost to provide a good service. Food exquisite the sea bass cooked to perfection wished it had more vegetables, half a potato seems on light side. My wife and guest had the French toast lobster and loved it. For desserts I had the chocolate truffle ice cream served with madeleines. My wife had the tart Tatum a different interpretation of the French classic. Only negative note was that our guest had a very spicy pepper in the ice cream which was a kitchen error. They replaced the dish with a new one and apologized and offered a lemonade to our guest. Considering the error I was surprise they did not comp the dessert. While in line with other venues in town, they seemed to be a bit pricier.

If there is a new restaurant in San Miguel de Allende worthy of a Michelin Guide star, it is apropos that it serves the best french food in town! Salvajes Brasserie hits high notes on all the essential elements: seasonal ingredients, stimulating flavors, cozy yet elegant ambiance, personalized hospitality...all par excellence!

All around pleasure Sunday brunch at Salvajes was delightful! Sitting on the roof terrace enjoying a local rosé and a local beer while waiting for our truffled gnocchi and coq au vin. The food was rich and tasty and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable. Life is good!

Absolutely delicious! Chef Jorge has done it again, This stunning gem has a menu full of flavor and beauty. We enjoyed the lobster French toast, French onion soup, bone marrow escargot and the desserts included truffle cream French macaroons and crape wrapped crème brûlée, all were so decadent. We sat at a small counter top in front of the kitchen and watched the chef smoothly execute the dinner rush. There are a lot of tables but as a chef it was the best seat in the house. Service was top notch and they made me a delicious Mocktail to accompany dinner. We will definitely go back again soon.

Ruby Jameson

This place is amazing!! Everything we had was delicious and of the highest quality. We had the romaine salad, sea bass and filet with truffle sauce. I ate it all before we could even get pictures. The energy and music was wonderful as well. Out new favorite restaurant.

A simple place with extraordinary and memorable cuisine I went with a friend for lunch today to Salvajes. I am mostly vegetarian, but their menu gave me several options. I had their prix fixe lunch, but the menu was so enticing I decided to have another dish as well. The first course of a cold, creamy pea soup with mint had many subtle and aromatic flavors. The main course was sea bass, and my friend ate it and said it was cooked perfectly. Then there were steamed beans with caramelized onions and a velvety ice cream with secrets of caramel?... and Mint. They said it was chocolate, but it was more interesting than that. My friend had gnocchi with a creamy cashew sauce, and the most authentic yummy French Onion soup. They served homemade rolls, baked with red pepper and delicious butter. I had a very good wine that was a Viognier blend. It is not inexpensive, but the food and service are worth every penny. For my budget, I will order the prix fixe menu and also a side dish for a filling meal you won't forget.

Best meal I've had in San Miguel in the two years I've lived here. We didn't have what seem to be two specialities, the lobster French toast and French onion soup - next time! - but loved the sea bass and marrow plates that we had as well as the bright and cold Albariño and then creme brûlée. The service was attentive but not obtrusive and surprise, the chef has a killer playlist as well. We'll be back 🙂

We enjoyed a wonderful evening of fantastic food and excellent service tonight at Salvages Brasserie. We were celebrating my Mom’s 80th birthday and the owner and staff made us feel so welcome. I HIGHLY recommend this dining experience.
